THE LANGLEY TAP

Inn The Sticks

Is a traditional village pub - a great place to eat and drink with friends and family.

Set in the heart of Langley Burrell, a delightful Wiltshire village located near to the historic town of Chippenham, we offer a great choice of drinks and an interesting menu using, where available, locally sourced seasonal ingredients; served in a relaxing and welcoming setting.

What we do

We provide a contemporary approach to hospitality in a traditional village pub - a welcoming, warm and friendly Informal dining and drinking experience.

When eating with us you can expect candles, linen napkins, music, chatting and laughter, and in the winter the fires are lit, all playing their part in creating the atmosphere that our pubs have become known for. As a diner at one of our village pubs, we offer an attentive yet not intrusive approach to table service. We are always on hand if you need us, we welcome you to give us a wave, a quick nod, or even come to the bar.

The Pub

When you walk through the door you will be greeted by the impressive central bar, rustic wooden floor, original stone walls, and a magnificent fireplace with a wood burner where during the colder months you’ll find a roaring fire. This is the heart of our pub, where we serve a great range of traditional ales, wines, spirits and non-alcoholic drinks.

The bar is a welcoming place to enjoy a drink or a meal by the fire. Relax here with the walkers and their dogs, the locals sharing stories of old, or just on your own with a newspaper and a pint of real ale. And for those who like things to be a little more intimate, we have a snug quietly tucked around the corner from the bar.

Our Dining Rooms

The Tap dining room is a welcoming bright and open space to the left of the bar, where at the far end, there is a central fireplace with another wood burner.

The Pump room is a cosy and a more intimate space, on the opposite side of the bar, with dark walls and low lighting.

Both dining rooms are slightly different but have the same relaxed feel throughout.

Outside

We have a welcoming south facing beer garden with plenty of seating for drinks and food at lunchtimes. We also have seating to the front of the pub, where you can sit and watch village life go by.

The History

We understand The Langley Tap to be a 19th century (tap house) built next door to the old brewery.

The old brewery buildings are now a private residence and offices. The original brewers were Henry Collett & Co and they were Brewers, Maltsters, Spirt Merchants & Cider Merchants.

The name of the pub has changed a number of times over the years, the last change being around 15 years ago when it changed from the Brewers Arms to the Langley Tap, lovingly known by locals as The Tap.

The Langley Tap is a wonderful Wiltshire gem that so many people have visited over the years.
